Expectations for Harvey in 2017 00:02:49
The Daily News Live panel debates what Mets fans should expect from Matt Harvey and if he will to being the team's ace this season.

Mets pitcher Matt Harvey said he feels healthy and has experienced no pain in his arm when throwing this offseason, he told reporters at a team charity event earlier this month.

"The way things are feeling now, it feels great," Harvey said, according to "Obviously being healthy through spring training and getting to the season and continuing to be healthy through the season is a big plus for me. It's something I look forward to doing."

Harvey, who underwent surgery in July for Thoracic outlet syndrome, recently threw off the slope of a mound at the Storm Sports Academy in West Hempstead.

The TOS had been causing tingling in Harvey's hand, which impacted his pitching grip and performance on the mound last season, when he was just 4-10 with a 4.86 ERA (3.47 FIP).

"That's all gone," he told reporters, according to Newsday. "My hand was really cold all the time. So, I've got some warmth back. No more tingling and the ball's really coming out really good right now."

The Mets and Harvey recently avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a one, $5.125 million contract that contains $100,000 in performance bonuses, according to James Wagner of the NY Times.

Harvey made $4.325 million last season and is eligible for arbitration again in 2018, after which he can become a free agent.

Harvey had a 2.71 ERA (3.05 FIP) and 1.01 WHIP with 188 strikeouts in 189 1/3 innings (29 starts) in 2015, during what was his first season back from Tommy John surgery.

Congratulations Justin Dunn!

Storm Academy would like to congratulate former Long Island Storm standout Justin Dunn.  The New York Mets selected the Boston College right-hander with the No. 19 pick in Thursday night's MLB first-year player draft. Justin has been coming to Storm Academy since he was 10 years old.  He has demonstrated how important focus, dedication, and hard work are needed in becoming a Major League Prospect.  We wish him the best of luck and will continue to train our athletes to see "Who will become the next Justin Dunn."

Scouting report: Dunn began the 2016 spring season in the bullpen and dominated there; he struck out 17 batters in 13 1/3 relief innings before he moved into the Eagles' rotation in April. He has maintained his velocity deep into games, and a growing segment of evaluators are bullish on his chances of starting in pro ball. Dunn will sit 91-95 mph and creep up to 97, with movement and electric extension
